Today around the world marks Christmas Day.
This day marks the arrival of a fat man in a suit climbing down the chimney and leaving presents under a tree.
The world sees it as a time for gift-giving and unwrapping presents. A time of Santa Claus and eight flying reindeer, sometimes nine. The stories of Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, and many more.
There was a show that came on the air in 1965. I hadn’t been born yet. However, it was called A Charlie Brown Christmas. It did have a scene that referenced the real reason for the day.
It is the birth of Jesus Christ, and he gave us the best gift ever—the gift of internal life.
And behold, I am the world’s light and life” (3 Ne. 11:10–11).
In John 1:4,” In him was life; and the life was the light of men.”
No matter what you celebrate, we must remember what this day means—the birth of Christ in a manger all those years ago.
It is all about the gift of giving.
I want to wish everyone a very merry Christmas!!
