The Sun Devils from Tempe, Arizona, come from southwest Tempe. They played a conference game against the BYU Cougars.

• At Lavell Edwards Stadium, in Provo, UT

• The time was 1:30 PM MT

• Broadcast on Fox.

Game Day Food

• I had Jdawgs again. I mean, it just sounded like good stadium Food.

• Cookies and Cream chocolate milk

• Some of the Cougar Tail

1st Half

I was at the game, standing in line to get my Jdawgs. But it was a good start for BYU when they recovered a fumble. BYU went down and scored. Well, it was after they called JoJo out of bounds.

Then BYU fumbled the ball, and it was picked up by BYU and went in for the score. That was reviewed. I mean, they had a lot of review within the first 5 min.

By the time the Half was over, BYU led 17-3. Towards the end of the Half, Bear threw a pick. Legend had a great open-field tackle.

Thoughts so far

Well, BYU still doesn’t look like a sharp-dressed team. They are still having mistakes, not penalties, but route breakdowns in the trenches. Interesting first Half

2nd Half

This is when the Sun Devils came alive. They scored 14 points and held BYU to zero points. Basically tying up the game. Lots of poor spots and non-calls got the crowd in a booing mood for Halloween. But BYU outscored them by 7 in the end.

I found that the 3rd to 4th quarter transition is better at night. But it was still a good show.

Thoughts

Not the game I was looking forward to. It was just another game: playing to the opponents’ tempo instead of going down the field, running up the score, and maintaining the lead. They keep them in the game. It looks to me like they don’t want it bad enough. Afraid of being overlooked by the committee again, for who they are.

But it was a good game. BYU came out the winners and are now 7-1
