UCF travels to Provo for an 11 AM MST kick off, 1 PM EST. I am going to try something different for this game. I will be updating this with my thoughts. Should be interesting.

The game has started in Provo, Utah, and it is 39 degrees for game time. UCF got the ball first. 

First Quarter 

BYU picked up the ball on a fumble, but it was an incomplete pass. Now, UCF is going into the field. 

BYU’s defense is struggling right now; UCF is driving down the field. There was a holding on UCF, and that brought back the TD for UCF. 

BYU needs to hold them here. Make them kick the 3 points. 

But UCF came to prove a point today in Provo, and they are moving the ball. 

UCF just scored a TD, with a wide-open receiver. BYU is down 7-0. 

Now, BYU will have to step up and let the Offense control the game. 

The True freshman takes the field, big old Bear. 

Right now, BYU is struggling on its first drive of the game. 

****Thoughts so far****

UCF came out on fire, ready to play some football. They came to play. 

BYU didn’t come to play so far. Maybe they are looking forward to next week. But UCF came to play some football.

UCF is driving down the field again on a good punt return. It looks like UCF is playing a 0-16 team, not a 10-1 team. 

UCF just scored another TD and is up 14 to 0 in the 1st quarter. 

BYU came out and is moving the ball. Bear took a brutal hit, but was able to complete it to Tiger, his brother. A couple of good plays and BYU is moving the ball.

*****Thoughts of the First Quarter*****

UCF came to play some football. Their mindset on winning shows. 

BYU may be looking ahead to next week, when it plays in the Big 12 Championship. They need to focus on this week. 

LJ Martian just scored his first TD of the game. BYU came down the field, and now they are on the board.

**** BYU will have to step up the defense and stop UCF**

BYU just picked the ball off on the 30-yard line of UCF. 

After the pick, BYU couldn’t do anything with the ball. Missed FG. Now, UCF got the ball. But it is a 3-and-out for UCF. 

BYU took the ball down and scored a TD, TE, almost scored, but then LJ took it in for his 2nd TD of the game. 

UCF just punted it, and BYU is driving down the field. Jojo Phillips just made a great catch. Will BYU score again? 

BYU couldn’t convert a TD, but they did kick a FG to take the lead for the first time in the game. 17-14. 

What will UCF do with 9 seconds left? 

Just what I would do. Take a knee.. 

BYU goes into halftime leading. 

 

***Thoughts on the first half ******

UCF came out on fire, scoring on the first two possessions of the game. It appears that the Knights came to play some football today. Right now, they can play with the Cougars. 

I think that UCF came to Provo to prove a point, and that point was made in the 1st quarter. 

Cougars came out looking ahead to next week’s Big 12 Championship game. Totally overlooking this game, and it showed. Allowing 14 points in the first quarter. Since then, they have settled down and are playing football. 

I think BYU needs to step it up on Offense. 

In my thoughts video, I said the following: 

* Bear will have 60 yards rushing and a running touchdown 

            Right now, he is at -10 yards and no rushing TDS

* LJ Martian will have 150 yards and 2 TDs 

         Right now, he has 56 yards and 2 TDs 

They have some football to play.

Third Quarter

I am behind on my blogging. Cleaning the kitchen up from breakfast. BYU got the ball and drove the field. LJ Martian is running the ball. A great catch by the TE Ryan. Resulted in an LJ Martian scoring his third TD. 

BYU gets a sack for the first time of the game. 

The QB just got called for intentional grounding; he’s been doing that most of the game. 

 

Kingston just returned the punt for the TD. BYU is up 31 to 14. 

Now UCF is on the move, with plenty of help for pushing the running back down after the whistle. 

UCF just scored on a nice trick play. UCF is 21 to BYU 31—10 Point game. 

Bear is doing well with the passing. No incomplete passes so far. 

On 4th down, Bear threw a dart to Kingston, and he scored a TD. UCF got a sideline warning after that TD. 

UCF has the ball now, will they go down and score in the 4th?

BYU came and scored some good points in that 3rd quarter, Kingston had 2 TDs

* one was a punt return, and one was a great catch and run. 

* LJ Martian scored another TD, making it three on the day. 

UCF scored a TD in the 3rd, bringing them to 21 points. 

BYU has a grand 4th quarter entry. Cosmo is one great mascot. They will need to stop UCF in this quarter. Get some style points for the CFP people. 

BYU caused a fumble while sacking the QB. Good job on the defense. 

LJ Martin keeps on going. 

BYU missed the FG. That is the second one in the game. He used to spot on. But not lately. 

BYU’s defense needs to stay home and pay attention to the trick plays. 

That grass is slippery for today’s game. BYU gets the ball back with 7:37 left in the game.

BYU will most likely just run the clock and then pass to Kingston. But that really didn’t lead to much. BYU just kicked a field goal, putting them at 41 with 3:53 left in the game. 

The backups are in for BYU now on Offense. BYU is undefeated at home this year.

BYU just called a timeout on 4th-and-10. With 28 seconds left in the game. 

BYU just needed to convert on 4th-and-10 and turn the ball over. 

BYU wins the game and is heading to Arlington, home of the Dallas Cowboys, to play in the Championship game for the BIG 12. 

Good game today.
