Now that the bowl games are all over. Let’s break down each game.
Frisco Bowl
This game featured Memphis and West Virginia. This is the first game for the Big 12, and it will set the tone for the rest of the games. Well, if the Big 12 is a conference worthy of bowl games.
This game was close throughout. However, the Memphis Tigers came out on top, winning 42 to 17.
West Virginia played a good game; the first quarter put them out of it.
Rate Bowl
It was played on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2024, in a Diamondbacks stadium in Phoenix, AZ. Yes, it is a Major League Baseball field, which is odd, but we will go with it.
They featured Rutgers vs. Kansas State, a good shootout in the first half. They were tied at 17 before Rutgers went up 10 at halftime.
I Thought Rutgers would run away with the game and the bowl win. Being up 17 late in the third quarter, Kansas St. returned and went ahead by 3 with four minutes left.
Rutgers couldn’t get that first down, so Kansas St. walked away with the win.
The running back for Kansas St. D. Edwards had 196 yards rushing on the day.
Liberty Bowl
Played on Friday, Dec. 27, 202 in Memphis, Tennessee. Features an SEC team and a Big 12 team. The Razorbacks of Arkansas are taking on Texas Tech Red Raiders.
It was supposed to a Red Raider win, however, it didn’t go that way. It looked like Texas Tech was returning, but that didn’t happen.
New Mexico Bowl
It took place on Dec. 28, 2024, in Albuquerque, New Mexico
Features the Ragin Cajuns and the Horn Frogs. This game was pretty much a lackluster game. It seemed that TCU, the Horn Frogs, just was too powerful for Louisiana Ragin Cajuns.
Pop Tart Bowl
Played in Orlando, Florida, on Dec. 28, 2024
Yes, they did have a ton of Pop-Tarts at this game. Iowa St and Mami Hurricanes faced off against each other. It was going to be a good game.
Iowa State played a good game when the Mami QB didn’t play the second half. Now, there are rumors that he refused to play once he got his record. I didn’t want to get hurt ahead of the NFL draft. If that is true, then what a loser.
But that was good for Iowa St. as they returned and won the game.

Alamo Bowl
Dec. 28, 2024 in San Antonio, Texas
The day has arrived for the biggest watched game outside the New Year’s Day bowl games. It wasn’t even close. I did a full review of this game here.
Texas Bowl
It played on Dec. 31, 2024, the last bowl game of 2024. This features the LSU Tigers and the Baylor Bears—the battle of the SEC and Big 12.
LSU was just the better team. In the first half, they outscored Baylor 34 to 17. I thought it would be a different game because LSU had many opt-outs.
Peach Bowl
Played in Atlanta, Georgia, on Jan. 1, 2025.
Featured Texas and Arizona St., these teams have been Big 12 champions for the past two years. However, Texas is now in the SEC.
The game wasn’t going well for ASU, and they found themselves down a bit. They got a safety off of an odd play, and two field goals made it 8 to 24 going into the fourth quarter. ASU came back and tied the game at 24.
Texas had two opportunities to win the game, but the FG kicker missed them.
Went to overtime
They were tied up 31 to 31 at the end of the first overtime. Texas would intercept the ball at the goal line to win the game.
