1st Half
With all the media hype and what Notre Dame fans were saying about BYU not being a good team. Notre Dame was in a different tier of football, and ND will wipe BYU’s butt all over the field.
BYU came out and really controlled this game from the first drive. However, on that first drive, Notre Dame’s premier pass rusher, Baubaar Travoe, delivered a high helmet-to-helmet hit that drew a targeting call and a 15-yard penalty, and he was ejected from the game.
This could have affected the game. BYU did control the game early. They scored on that drive. So it looks like the Fighting Irish’s stellar defense wasn’t stopping BYU. By the end of the first Half, BYU led 21-10.
BYU did a double pass back to Bear, and he ran in for a TD. It looked like BYU controlled this game from the get-go.
I didn’t get the first-half stats. I was busy at a party.
Thoughts so far
BYU came in wanting to play some football. ND came in overconfident, thinking they were above everyone and should hand them the national championship.
There was this game day poster.

This is so true of how ND was thinking before this game. That they are the elite team and they don’t even know why they’re here.
Well, BYU’s defense was better than ND’s in the first Half. Carr couldn’t do anything. He was being pressured all night long. ND was outplayed in the first Half. People will say ND was having a bad first half. They never give BYU the credit or the respect.
2nd Half
Some mistakes kept ND in the game. A fake punt deep inside BYU’s territory. A fumble from a punt. This helped keep ND in the game. However, BYU held ND to mostly field goals. ND did take the lead late, 24 to 21. BYU drove down and punched it in to take a 28-24 lead. ND took over with less than 2 min to go and drove the field. Had a chance to win it with 4 seconds left. But that pass failed.
BYU wins the game.

Thoughts
Now, they say there was pass interference on BYU. It wasn’t PI; the ND player was doing PI too. Was there a second left on the clock? One will never know. But BYU needs to be respected. ND isn’t on a different tier. They think they are.
ND came into BYU thinking they were better and didn’t need to play such a crappy team. They left with the loss, and now they are crying.
Now my thoughts on the refs. The refs were from the SEC. Was that a good choice? Due to the following facts:
- Game Day came to BYU
- Instead of going to an SEC school
- The SEC team didn’t get the prime-time slot on ABC. 7:30 PM ET.
- SEC are babies
Now the refs did have some
- Questionable Calls
- No calls
- Bad calls
They did give the BYU sideline a warning. After the refs called a horrible pass interference call on BYU’s defense. It was an obvious offensive PI. There was an obvious unsportsmanlike missed call on ND. But the refs let it slide.
But ND left with the loss, and they aren’t happy about it.
Next Week’s Game
It will be in Orlando, taking on UCF.
