BYU Football Dominates Colorado State: 70th Rivalry Game Breakdown & Thoughts

Yesterday was the day BYU and Colorado St. played their 70th game. It was a game of games. Let’s read about it.

The Game

Took place in Ft. Collins, Colorado, and there was a weather delay before the game started. It was like 6:15 PM.

My Thoughts

Game Day Food

Motor City Pizza from Costco. We also did cheese bread.

1st Half

Started good for BYU: 2 plays and a TD for L.J. Martian. It started well. However, the Rams came back and scored, too.

Then that was it. BYU controlled the first half.

Going into halftime, BYU was ahead.

Thoughts so far

When the Rams marched down the field and scored, I thought the defense stayed home. But it was just the first drive. Then the defense showed up, and that was it.

BYU looked good so far. L.J. had three TD’s in this game. It was a good day for him. Saw a couple of stupid mistakes. But we all make mistakes.

2nd Half

BYU only scored 7 in the third quarter. Colorado did intercept the ball twice. Bear had one, and then the backup QB threw one.

Colorado had three different QBs in this game.

The BYU Cougars had a good showing. BYU ended up winning.

Thoughts

Going into Fort Collins to win the 70th game of the series was a good move. It was like the old days. BYU showed they have weapons besides Bear. L.J. had a great game.

Next Week’s Game

It is a bye Week. BYU travels to TCU on Oct. 3, 2026
