What does Christmas mean to you?

According to the dictionary, Christmas means
The annual Christian festival celebrating Christ’s birth is held on December 25 in the Western Church.
The question is what does it mean to you? It means different things to people. You have to take the time and see what Christmas means to you.
Means to me
It used to mean that I would have some new toys to play with growing up and waking up in the middle of the night to see what Santa left.
It meant that I would be able to spend time with my brother as he would be coming home. Yes, I did visit him. But he would stay home for a few days and that was great.
IT took me a while to figure out what it really means to me.
Nowadays it means to spend time with family, it isn’t about
- Gifts under the tree
- The money
- Getting gifts
It is all about
- Giving
- Spending time with people
- Caring about people
- Christ
Might not be
You might not be Christen or believe in Christ, but this holiday is all about him. It has his name in the word. Yes, the world might be getting away from the actual meaning of Christmas. But, it will always be about the birth of Christ all those years ago.
No matter what you believe in, or what Christmas means to you. Remember to help those in need as it is better to give than receive.
