I predicted that the game would be good with BYU winning 35-17. How did that work out?
The Game
It occurs in Boulder, Colorado, just north-west of Denver, Colorado. It looked like a nice night—a 65-degree night. What a great night for football.
1st Half
Colorado got the ball, went down, and scored. It was a sad showing for BYU’s defense. BYU couldn’t stop the offense in that first quarter, which showed in the score. First quarter ended with he score of
BYU | 3 |
Colorado | 14 |
It looked like the quarterback, Salter, was just doing what he wanted and when he tried to. I mean, running the ball all over the place. With all the no-call holding plenties, you can do that. There were a lot of no-calls in that quarter. But it is what it is.
In the second quarter, BYU’s defense appeared alive and stopped them from scoring. However, BYU’s offense finally came to life, and the ball was moved.
BYU is in a good spot thanks to a couple of pass interference calls against Colorado.
Finally got a TD for BYU.
End of the 1st half.
BYU | 10 |
Colorado | 14 |
Thoughts
The first half was a roller coaster ride. Colorado scored 2 TDs right off the bat. Then BYU kicked a field goal to make it on the scoreboard. The defense showed up and held Colorado to 0 points in the second quarter.
So far, it has been a good game, but it would have been nice to have BYU lead. But at some point, BYU has to trail.
Now looking forward to the second half.
2nd Half
BYU needed to come out and score a touchdown, but that didn’t happen. Let’s see what happened in the second half.
The third quarter was pretty evenly matched. Both teams scored touchdowns. It has been a good game up to this point.
BYU | 17 |
Colorado | 21 |
In the Fourth Quarter, BYU went down and scored a TD, making the score 24 to 21. BYU missed a field goal, but they held Colorado on downs. BYU was going down, but the play calling was horrible. BYU punted and got the down on the 6-yard line. But will that stop Colorado?
Under a minute to go, and an interception by Glasker ended the game. BYU won.
BYU | 24 |
Colorado | 21 |
It was a good game. I think a few things fueled the Cougars’ win. One was a couple of pass interference calls against Colorado. They will have to work on that.

Thoughts
Despite being down by 14 in the first quarter, BYU held Colorado to just one touchdown the rest of the game. The defense struggled intermittently today, but it came through when needed.
The offense struggled. I don’t know if it was the play calling or things getting broken up during the play. Sometimes, they didn’t know what they were doing, and the defense knew what was happening.
It was an ugly win, but a win is a win.
BYU improves to 4-0 so far.
Colorado falls to 2-3.
BYU 1-0 in conference
Colorado 0-2 in conference
Colorado is a good team, and they will be going places. Keep your eye on them.
Next Week
It’s a short week for BYU. They will play West Virginia at home on Friday night at 8:15 MST.
West Virginia lost to Utah on Saturday, September 27, 2025. Will they come back and seek revenge?
Some questions for you.
- How do you think the game will go? Do
