BYU Recap, Oct. 22, 2023

Well, BYU came out and played like they should be playing. Or play like they did last week? That is the question on my mind. It should be the question on everyone’s mind

1st Quarter

BYU got the ball, and they went down and scored. LJ Martian ran a 55-yard run, his longest of the year. BYU went up 7

BYU stopped Texas Tech on 4 and 1 close to the goal line. Texas had the ball, then a fumble in the end zone, and then BYU went up 14.

2nd Quarter

Texas Tech had to punt it, and BYU had to kick it out. There was a great hit and some trash-talking on the BYU sideline with the Texas Tech returner.

Texas Tech scored on a 72-yard pass play.

BYU drove down the field and made some great plays and touchdowns for BYU.

BYU intercepted the ball but could only convert 3 points on that turnover.

Did Texas Tech do anything with the time left in the 2nd quarter? Had some excellent throws. They called targeting on BYU, but it wasn’t, and the refs agreed. However,  it was intercepted to end the 2nd quarter.

BYU came out ready to play some football. However, there is still the 2nd half of the game. Will Texas Tech come back?

2nd Half

I will be the first to admit that I did watch the 2nd half of the play, but I wasn’t able to document it very well.

BYU played a good game, and they came out with the victory.

It was a good game, where BYU still had not-so-good stats but pulled off the win. Something must be going right for them this year.

Texas is next week, and that should be a good game. That will be played at 2:30 PM MST on ABC.
