Cooking With Justin, Fish

More on the carnivore diet, and today is the first fish segment. Let’s dive into into it.

Fish

Fish is another option on the carnivore diet. It’s really good for you. I don’t eat a lot of fish because my wife doesn’t like it. She likes Halibilt but nothing else. I know, odd.

Salmon

For this post, I will discuss salmon. This is one of the fish I love to eat. I don’t like to cook it, but I love to eat it.

I picked up the following from Smiths, owned by Kroger

Just a couple of center-cut sections. I am going to use the grill today to cook the salmon.

This is how I cooked the salmon: I took some tinfoil out, placed the skin down, and then seasoned the fish.

I seasoned it with the following:

  • Salt
  • Chili Lime seasoning
  • Lemmon Butter seasoning
  • No salt seasoning
  • Minced garlic
  • Butter

I can’t have lemon, so yeah, just butter.

I wrapped it up and put it on the grill.

Grill

I heated the grill to about 500 degrees and let it cook for about 12 minutes. The fish wasn’t done then, so I let it cook another 5 to 6 minutes. It all depends on your grill and stuff like that.

It looked like this right before I took it off the grill.

You can tell if it is done when it is flakey. Yes, it was done, and it was good.

Thoughts

This is a good option to change up the meat intake, and it makes this diet better-tasting. I love to eat salmon, and this is always a good move.

Now, if it were fish and chips, it would be better. But that will come in time.

I will do this again, but I will try different seasonings. It is nice to try new things.
