BYU 24
UCF 10
That is how the first half ended.
How is the BYU defense handling the UCF offense after their explosive game last week? UCF had 115 yards rushing. BYU could have been better, but Harvey, the RB, is just an explosive player. Brown, the quarterback, is a good runner as well.
BYU will have to focus more on the line of scrimmage and follow the ball.
The offense is doing OK.
2nd Half
Third Quarter
It was all BYU. Chase Roberts caught a great catch at the one-yard line. Then Retzlaff threw the ball to the tight end, M. Ta`ase,
BYU 31
UCF 10
Then the other score was a 31-yard FG by Ferrin,
BYU 34
UCF 10
That is how the third quarter would end.
Fourth Quarter
With 10:25 left in the game, UCF introduced a new quarterback, and what do you know? That spark ignited UCF, and they went down the field and scored a touchdown. I mean, that looked easy on this BYU defense. They went for a 2-point conversion, and they made it.
BYU 34
UCF 18
BYU had to go down the field to put the game away. They did drive the field, but they only got an FG.

Questions
Can BYU stop the running game of UCF?
BYU did stop the running game from the quarterback. Last week, he had 155 yards, but today, it was about 9 yards. Before a new quarterback came in, that changed. It looked like the defense didn’t show up for that drive. Starting with 10:25 left in the game, the defense seemed to go to sleep.
Will the defense show up?
Yes, the defense showed up for about 90% of the game. They did get two interceptions, but the rushing and the short passes still hurt them.
How will the offense do?
The offense did a good job despite losing the ball on one turnover. There was a fumble by the quarterback, Jake Retslaff, in the fourth Quarter. They were on fire, and it seemed like they could run the ball well.
Thoughts
It was a good game. BYU showed up and knew what they had to do. That first drive set the tone of the game. In this game, they focused more on running the ball. The passing game was there, and Chase Roberts had a couple of good catches.
This is because of UCF’s performance against Iowa State last week. BYU adjusted well.
What is next
BYU has a bye week next week and will face the Utah Utes at Rice Eccles Stadium. The time is unknown, but we will update you when it becomes available.
The game is a late-night game on ESPN; it is 8:15 PM MST
10:15 PM EST
9:15 PM CST
7:15 PM PST
The Question I have for the next game is
Will Utah step up and have a good match? Will the Cougars crush the Utes?
