It is about time they had a playoff for the college football championship. The BCS was just a joke.
BCS
The Bull Crap Series, as I called it. It was just crap; it favored the SEC, and Big 10 conferences more, even if it was centered on the Power 5 conferences.
It excluded independent teams, except Notre Dame and other conferences like MTN West, WAC, etc.
They didn’t want another BYU to come in and take the championship from the P5 schools.
Finally
Now, they have a 12-team playoff model in which the MTN West champion will be included. Wow, that is surprising.
How it will work.
The top 4 teams will get bye weeks
The rest of the 12 will play at the higher-seed home field.
Then, the winners of those games will play the four teams in a bowl game.
Then the winners of those games will play each other
The winners will play for the national championship.

Favored
It appears that the SEC and Big 10 Conferences are favored, which is typical. The name and logos are what matter.
Thoughts
It will be an enjoyable time in college football as the playoff era begins.
I will voice my opinion about the CFP a bit later. The target date is Jan.29, 2025. Why so long? Well, I have to see how all the games play out, and it will give me time to reflect on what I will say. Plus, I don’t want it to be riddled with profanity.
