Well, this game was a needed win for BYU to keep the hunt for the Big 12 Championship. BYU was required to come out strong, and they did that in the first quarter.
Thoughts
OK, so here were my thoughts before the game. BYU has to come out on fire. They will have to display a winning team showing. It will be a good game.
First Half
BYU came out and got the ball first and went down and scored a field goal to start the game. The stopped TCU, and the second possession went down and scored a TD. TCU didn’t score.

TCU showed up in the 2nd quarter and scored 10, and BYU scored 17, going into halftime
It was a back-and-forth second quarter. But BYU was up by 17 going into halftime. BYU went down and kicked a field goal as time ran out.

Halftime Thoughts
I am thinking that this is the BYU that needed to show up last week. But, they didn’t. However, BYU came out on fire, and that is what was required. How will the second half start?
Second Half
TCU got the ball first, marched down the field, and scored a field goal. It looked like TCU came out on fire, ready to prove a point. BYU’s defense is tough, especially in the red zone or blue zone. How would BYU respond? Well, with a field goal.
And that is how the 3rd quarter would end with each team kicking a field goal.

Thoughts
BYU only had one fumble in the game; actually, it was a punt that didn’t happen. But they also picked off TCU twice. BYU played tough. Like the BYU I know. TCU is a good team. They will have some good seasons coming up in the next few years. BYU just outplayed them. Bear had a great game, I am thinking his best so far.
They showed TCU that they, too, can score 44 while they scored 13. That is two more points than the 2023 game.
Next Week
BYU will be traveling to Cincinnati to take on the Bearcats. This game will be at 6 PM MST on Fox. The big noon kickoff will be there. Is that a good thing?
