I have been walking almost every day if not at the gym, then around my block. But I have been walking. My goal is a 30-minute walk. Now that is saying something for someone who is very overweight. But you make small goals before you get to the bigger ones. Having my cardiac event back at the end of March really threw me for a loop. It got me thinking that I need to kick start my ass into gear.
Made a goal
So I made a goal to walk 50,000 steps in one week. Some might say I can do that in a couple of days. Well good for you!! For someone who sits around all day at his computer that is a good goal. That would mean for a week (that is 7 days) that would be about 7,143 steps a day. That is 2,143 steps above my normal goal.
Did I make it
Hell yea I did. I got 56,923 steps in a week. So I made a goal to get that again. In the second week, I got 51,549. Yea, there were a couple of days I wasn’t feeling very well. I didn’t want to push myself too hard. I didn’t want to end up back in the hospital.
I made myself a new goal of walking over 60,000 steps while I was in Washington D.C. Did I make that? Well, so far I think I have. I don’t want to spoil it for you. But, I have been walking everywhere. So we will have to see in a couple of weeks if this goal was achieved. Those steps will only be from Wednesday, May 4 to Monday, May 9, 2022.
My weight is still hanging in there above the 290 mark. Still working on that.
